Style on Sunday with Demelza De Burca

Drooling over Isabel Marant’s latest collection but can’t afford the price tag?

Step up Savannah Miller, Sienna Miller’s older sister, who has joined forces with high street giant Debenhams for a stunning Left bank chic line.

Miller, 36, studied at hallowed fashion college Central Saints Martins specialising in knitwear, before landing jobs at Matthew Williamson and Alexander McQueen.

In 2006, she and Sienna launched their own label Twenty8Twelve. But in 2012, they left the brand, as Savannah decided to pursue her own design work and Sienna focused on her ever-expanding Hollywood career,

Her new collection ‘Nine by Savannah’ for Debenhams is her latest solo project and sees her joining the store’s impressive stable of designers, which includes Williamson, Jonathan Saunders and Julian Macdonald.

Miller’s first collection launch features 70 womenswear pieces and 48 accessories, a further 35 pieces will be added for Christmas.

The range is inspired by the Brit’s personal style, laidback, feminine boho - think slip evening dresses for women, blanket coats, cargo jeans, parkas, lace tops and swallow-printed blouses.

Accessories come by way of suede knee-high boots, moccasins and cross-body fringing bags.

“I am delighted to become a part of the Designers at Debenhams offering with the launch of my new collection, Nine,” said mum-of-three Miller.

“The range is inspired by the eclectic and bohemian, chic way that cool girls prom dress 2015 and comprises of relaxed, casual separates.

“Naturally there is a particular emphasis on amazing knitwear which can be teamed with perfect jeans to embellished sequin skirts.”

It’s a look that French fashion designer Marant made popular, but Miller’s take on Gallic style is delightfully more purse-friendly.
